North & South American Trips
House Swaps & Cruises
The fall of 2018 trip started with house swaps in Brooklyn and Boston and included two cruises from Boston, the second ending in Quebec City. (The first was supposed to go to Bermuda but a hurricane got in the way!)
Our trip In the winter of 2017 was to Central America. We started with stops in Panama and Costa Rica and then visited Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala. All the countries were very enjoyable!
In the summer of 2017 we took several short trips. We had a week in Toronto, a week in Nova Scotia, and then a 2nd, shorter trip in another part of NS. We finished with a week in NYC.
Coast to Coast - The West
The second part of our 2016 coast to coast trip started with a house swap in Banff and then a visit to the US Pacific Northwest. The rest of the trip included stops in Vancouver (another house swap), the Yukon Territory, and BC's Okanagan Valley.
Coast to Coast - The East
In the summer of 2016 we went coast to coast. In the east, we started with a house swap in Toronto and then also swapped in both Ottawa & Montreal. The 'after Toronto' part of the trip also included visits to two Ontario wine regions.
US Southwest & Cruise
In the fall of 2015 we visited the US Southwest. We started with a couple of days in the Grand Canyon, before heading to Bryce & Zion Canyons in Utah. In Galveston, Texas, we boarded a ship for a cruise to Cozumel, Belize, and Roatan, Honduras.
Other Short Trips
This September we will be visiting Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee for the first time. Back in January 2015 we spent a week in Havana, Cuba which was only our second actual stay on a Caribbean Island. All of our other visits had been on cruises.
Cruise with Kevin & Emily
In December 2014, we returned to the Southern Caribbean, this time with Kevin and Emily.
We started in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and visited St. Thomas, USVI, Basseterre on St. Kitts, Oranjestad, Aruba, and Willemstad, Curacao. Our pub crawl!
Our summer 2013 trip was to South America. We visited Brazil (the Amazon, Rio de Janeiro, Iguazu Falls), Argentina (Iguazu Falls, Buenos Aires, Mendoza), Chile (Santiago, after first flying to Easter Island), and finally, Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands!
Oasis of the Sea
In the spring of 2011 we vacationed on the largest cruise ship in the world. The ship was separated into 7 neighbourhoods so there was always something to do or see. The ports of call were almost secondary because of all the activities on the ship.
The West Coast
We visited the West Coast in the fall of 2009. We started in Victoria where we visited the Butchart Gardens and then spent a week in Vancouver, visiting a number of neighbourhoods within walking distance of our downtown timeshare.
The Rockies & Okanagan
Our spring 2007 vacation was in the Rockies and Okanagan. We actually started in Regina and then visited Calgary before heading to Banff for a few days. Then it was on to Jasper and then to British Columbia where we spent a week in wine country.
More Caribbean Cruises
A cruise with Sharyn & Jeremy and Kevin & Emily in Dec 2009, a Southern Caribbean cruise out of San Juan in Dec 2007, and our first cruise, over Christmas 2004, that stopped at Chichen Itza in Mexico and the Grand Bahamas.
Earlier Canadian Trips
We had a return trip to Ontario in 2013 after being there for Kevin and Emily's wedding in 2011. A third trip included the Gaspe Peninsula on our drive to Quebec City in 2008 to meet Sharyn and Jeremy who were moving from North Bay to Halifax.
Earlier US Trips
Included are a trip over Christmas 2010 to Florida (Tampa and Orlando), a business trip in 2008 to Boulder, Colorado, and a conference for me and training for Debbie in 2004 that were held in New Orleans.
