In the summer of 2014 we had two house swaps in Europe. We started with a few days in Dublin and then two weeks in Paris. In between we visited the Loire Valley for some chateaus and castles! We ended with some time in Southern England.
Marseille was our home base for our vacation in the south of France in the summer of 2012. Besides the city, we visited towns in Provence like Arles and Nîmes, and the Côtes du Rhône wine region. We also stayed two nights in Barcelona and visited Moscow.
In the spring of 2012 we were in Switzerland for the World Men's Curling Championships. We also cruised on the Danube River, visited Germany, the Czech Republic, and Helsinki, Finland, before finishing our trip in Warsaw, Poland.
After a Mediterrean Cruise in the fall of 2011, we flew to Edinburgh for a house swap as the first week of the Great Britain part of our vacation. We then explored the attractions of Northern England and then Wales. The final part of our trip was in Southern England.
In the fall of 2011 we cruised from Istanbul to Athens. After three days visiting sites in Istanbul we started the cruise which included other stops in Turkey and four islands in Greece. We then spent three days on our own exploring Athens.
In the spring of 2010, we vacationed in Spain and Morocco. We actually started with 4 days in Paris before heading to Spain for a week in the Costa del Sol. After that we visited Jerez, Seville, Cordoba, and Madrid by train. Then it was off to Morocco.
After the week in France in the spring of 2008, we went on a Mediterranean cruise. We departed Barcelona and visited Monte Carlo, Pisa, Rome, and Sicily. We then had stops in Greece and Dubrovnik, Croatia, before ending our cruise in Venice.
A stop in southwest France in the spring of 2008 where we visited old towns including Carcassonne and also Barcelona, and our spring 2004 trip that included London, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Champagne region of France, and Germany.
In the spring of 2006 we cruised the Baltic Sea. After a night in Amsterdam, we visited Copenhagen, Denmark, Stockholm, Sweden, Helsinki, Finland, St. Petersburg, Russia, Tallinn, Estonia and, finally, Oslo, Norway.
