The ferris wheel we rode at the Prater Amusement Park on our first full day in the Austrian capital. It had a role in The 3rd Man, a movie set in post-World War II Vienna. We haven't seen the movie yet, but plan to!
The view of the park from inside the ferris wheel.
Our house swap. It was just a short walk to the train station and tram stop where we took rides to attractions around the city.
One of several heurigen we visited. A heuriger is a winery-owned establishment within the city limits serving local food and wine.
The view from the back of the Imperial Palace. One of the many impressive buildings along the ring roads in the city.
And here's the view of the front of the Imperial Palace.
Another heuriger we visited. Very nice!!
The view during our short stroll along the Danube River in Spitz, a small town outside Vienna.
One last heuriger, this time in Spitz. Nice wine, food, and views!
There was an antique car show on an island in the Danube not far from our place.
Local beer at a roof top lounge on our first day in the Slovakian capital.
Bratislava Castle, just up the hill from where we were staying.
For some reason they call this the Blue Church.
The old town hall in the heart of the old town.
You could sample 72 Slovakian wines in 100 minutes at the Slovak National Collection of Wines. We got through about half of them!
