Trips to Europe

  
    London & CruiseThis summer we were in London for about a week and then flew to Iceland where we boarded a cruise ship that took us to Greenland, Newfoundland, and St Pierre & Miquelon.  We ended our cruise in Halifax.

    Transatlantic Cruise & MoreThis spring we took a transatlantic cruise from Miami to Barcelona that had stops in Madeira (Portugal), and Malaga & Valencia (Spain) on the way.  Then, while overseas, we spent a couple of weeks in Georgia and Azerbaijan.

    Europe (& Washington, DC)The first stop on our trip in the spring of 2022 was a week in Washington, DC.  We then headed to Europe where we visited  Portugal, France & Belgium, and then The Netherlands & Germany.  We finish our trip with a Scandinavian cruise.

    European CapitalsIn August 2021 we finally travelled again after 20 months staying at home!  A lot of our original plans were postponed again until 2022 so on this trip we spent a month in Europe, visiting the capital cities of  Vienna & Bratislava, Budapest & Paris.

    Barcelona & BelfastWe had one more trip to Europe in the summer of 2019.
We started with about 3 weeks in Barcelona and then headed to Northern Ireland for a week in Belfast.  We also had quick stops in Dublin before and after visiting Belfast.

    Spain, Italy & PortugalIn the spring of 2019 we were back in Europe.  We started with two weeks in Spain and then headed to Italy for another three weeks or so.  We then had two weeks in Portugal before returning to Spain for a few more days.

    Eastern EuropeIn the spring of 2018 we visited a number of countries in Eastern Europe.  We started with a Danube River Cruise, then travelled from Romania to Latvia, and finally spent time in a number of Balkan Countries, including almost two weeks in Croatia.

    Dublin & ParisIn the summer of 2014 we had two house swaps in Europe. We started with a few days in Dublin and then two weeks in Paris. In between we visited the  Loire Valley for some chateaus and castles!  We ended with some time in Southern England.

    South of FranceMarseille was our home base for our vacation in the south of France in the summer of 2012. Besides the city, we visited towns in Provence like Arles and Nimes, and the Cotes du Rhone wine region. We also stayed two nights in Barcelona and visited Moscow.

    Curling, Cruising & MoreIn the spring of 2012 we were in Switzerland for the World Men's Curling Championships. We also cruised on the Danube River, visited Germany, the Czech Republic, and Helsinki, Finland, before finishing our trip in Warsaw, Poland.

    Great BritainAfter a Mediterrean Cruise in the fall of 2011, we flew to Edinburgh for a house swap as the first week of the Great Britain part of our vacation. We then explored the attractions of Northern England and then Wales.  The final part of our trip was in Southern England.

    Istanbul to Athens CruiseIn the fall of 2011 we cruised from Istanbul to Athens.  After three days visiting sites in Istanbul we started the cruise which included other stops in Turkey and four islands in Greece.  We then spent three days on our own exploring Athens.
