More Exotic Places

   
    East  Africa CruiseThis spring we will be cruising down the east coast of Africa.   We'll sail from Dubai to Mauritius and will have stops in Abu Dhabi, The Seychelles, Madagascar, and Reunion.

     AfricaIn the fall of 2023 we were in Africa for safaris in Tanzania and Botswana.  Either before or after our safaris, we also visited Stellenbosch in South Africa, Zanzibar, and Dubai & Abu Dhabi in the  United Arab Emirates.

    Turkiye, Armenia, & GeorgiaWe visited Eastern Europe in the fall of 2022.  We started in Istanbul and then visited some attractions in Turkiye, including Cappadocia and Ephesus.  We also stopped in Tbilisi to explore Georgia and Yerevan for the highlights of  Armenia.

    HawaiiIn December 2018 we visited Hawaii for the first time.  We started in Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, and then took a cruise that stopped at Kahului (Maui), Hilo (Hawaii), Kona (Hawaii), and Nawiliwili (Kauai), before returning to Honolulu.

    Around AsiaIn the winter of 2017 we returned to Asia.  We started with stops in Dubai, India, Myranmar, and Malaysia, then headed to Singapore, Macau, Hong Kong, Japan, Jordan, and Qatar before returning to Dubai and then to London and home.

    AntarcticaIn December 2016 we visited Antarctica, our 7th continent. We saw lots of wildlife (mostly penquins!) as well as incredible views of mountains, glaciers, icebergs, and more!  On the way down and back we had stops in Chile and Argentina.

    SE Asia & AustraliaIn spring 2014, after leaving China, we explored many of the countries of Southeast Asia, starting with Borneo, Malaysia, and Vietnam, and then Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, and Bali.  We then spent time in Australia before heading to Japan.

    China, Japan, & KoreaIn spring 2014 we visited Asia. We started in China, with stops in Beijing and Xi'an, and then cruised the Yangtze River. Then it was Shanghai and Hong Kong before moving on to SE Asia (see next trip). We then visited Japan and Korea before heading home.

    EgyptAfter starting our Spring 2012 vacation in Switzerland, we visited Egypt. We spent four days on a Nile River cruise and then had three nights in Cairo where we visited, among other things, the pyramids.  Altogether, we saw lots of  ancient sites!

    Australia & New ZealandIn the fall 2010 we were in Australia, starting in Sydney. We visited various wine regions, took the train from Sydney to Adelaide, and stayed in Melbourne.  In New Zealand we went from Christchurch on the South Island to Auckland on the North Island. 

    MoroccoIn the spring of 2010, after vacationing in Spain, we spent 10 days in Morocco. We stayed 3 days in Fes, rode camels into the Sahara desert and stayed overnight in a Nomad tent, drove through the Atlas Mountains and stayed 2 days in Marrakesh.  More photos!

    South AfricaIn the spring of 2005 we visited South Africa. We first saw Victoria Falls and then went on safari.  The second week we stayed in Camps Bay, a beach town about 10 minutes from Cape Town from where we explored the Western Cape region.
